SEAI Heating Grants
The insulation and heating control grants are only available on homes built and occupied before 2006.
The solar panel and heat pump grants are only available on homes built and occupied before 2011.
(The occupation date is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed.
Eco-friendly heating grants are available to home owners .
Grants of up to €6000
These grants are not income-related – anyone can apply regardless of income. These grants are available from The Better Energy Homes Scheme. The scheme was revised in 2018 – and the grant previously given for a replacement oil or gas boiler is no longer offered.
Until 2018, some homeowners who upgraded their old central heating boiler could claim a grant towards the cost of a new boiler – but now the grants are aimed at solar heating and heat pumps instead of boilers.
You can get grants of up to €1200 for solar thermal systems and up to €3500 for heat pump systems.
Under the Better Energy grant scheme, householders who own a house built before 2006 can get a grant of €700 Euro towards the cost of upgrading central heating controls. (Regardless of the type of boiler).
The heating controls upgrade must include the following –
- Two zones (space and water) with 7-day programmer (time/temperature)
- Time/temperature control of electric immersion (where applicable).
- 1 additional heating zone – OR installation of sufficient Thermostatic radiator valves.
Special Offer Heating Grant
The Special offer €1999 deal price is for a standard 3 bed house that has up to 10 radiators and best of all the final bill is subsidised after grant claims for qualifying homes.
On completion, grant forms are filled out by the customer, and within 30 days, those funds are paid directly into your account or a cheque in the post, which offsets the client’s total cost.
The amount of the grants you receive differs depending on the heating controls you choose to install. For example, if you included upgrading your heating controls to fully integrated controls when replacing your gas boiler, you would receive substantial grants & incentives of up to €459 from Electric Ireland and a further €700 from the SEAI.
